Rare Varieties
A Rare Variety of Cavy is one that is classed by the British Cavy Council as not having reached the full standard required to compete in an open show.
These are the ' New' Varieties that are brought into the country or created by hard working breeders and they all strive to attain a full standard, they are catered for by the Rare Variety Cavy Club
They are split into Standards

The Tan
The tan was brought into the UK by Tony Cooke and introduced to the fancy in 2000
The Tan comes in many colours
A BlackTan
A Beautiful Black Tan from member Amanda Walker

Is similar to the Tan, replacing the tan colour with white, it was also brought into the country by Tony Cooke
